Taking Flight

Baturday News is a weekly blog written by Rachael, a 6th grade student and Save Lucy volunteer. Rachael’s interest in bats was sparked by the big browns bats that use the outside of her home for a winter roost. Her family has cheerfully hosted this wild colony for years.

Hi Everyone! School is finally out and I’ve been having fun. I wonder if the bats are enjoying their summer. The weather hasn’t been too bad, but it’s supposed to get hot during the next few days. I don’t think the little bats will be comfortable.

I wanted to let everyone know that the baby bat pups at Save Lucy are doing well. They are learning how to fly. They are doing a wonderful job.
