Hi everyone! I hope you all ha a good week! I enjoyed my last week of summer vacation. Sadly, I will need to get up early starting on Monday. But, good news! This is my senior year!

I am happy to announce that Bat Fest Arlington will be held tonight, August 24th! It will be held at Gulf Branch Nature Center, in Arlington, VA. The festivities will start at 6:30 PM, and end at 9 p.m. There will be live bat shows presented by Save Lucy’s very own president, the wonderful Leslie Sturges! Mrs. Sturges will bring bats that are native to the area. One of the bats will be an adorable Big Brown bat! I love their fluffy fur. You can recognize them by how “big” they are, a whole 4–5 inches long when they stretch out their gorgeous tails. You can also recognize them by their beautiful brown fur. Mrs. Sturges might also bring another species of bat. It all depends on how our furry friends are feeling. There are three bat shows, the first from 6:30-7, the second from 7:15-7:45, and the last from 8-9. There will be other activities too. Games and crafts will be set up for kids and adults to enjoy.  If you have any questions, you can either call 703-228-3403, or visit the website at https://parks.arlingtonva.us/bat-fest/. I hope to see you all there!
